  • “Lovely place to have your kid. Think about it. This place is has been working with kids as a private school for 113 years. I've been there myself and loved the staff, the teachers, the place, the idea they have of education and keeping your kid's mind busy with positive things. I think we made the right choice. Thank God for a place like this.”

WHO WE ARE

Our School

Indiana Academy is a Christian, private high school dedicated to the academic development of the mind, body, and soul. Founded in 1902 by the Seventh-day Adventist church, Indiana Academy is one of 50+ similar academies in the United States and Canada and is under the direction of the Department of Education.

Our Students

Students from surrounding states and international countries attend this boarding academy for grades 9 through 12.

80% of our students live on campus in gender-specific dormitories.

Indiana Academy admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. Indiana Academy does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.

Our FOCUS

Class sizes are small with focused attention from our dedicated teachers and staff. IA has a graduation rate of over 95% and most of our graduates continue on to complete a college degree. All academy students are encouraged to learn practical work skills and many work opportunities are offered, both on and off campus. Our primary focus is to prepare our students for service in this world and in the world to come. We believe that the work of education and the work of redemption are one.

OUR CAMPUS

Indiana Academy is located in rural Cicero, a small town 30 miles north of Indianapolis. Cicero has all the advantages of a small hometown; a peaceful setting, safety, and friendly residents. Being within driving distance of Indianapolis provides access to great shopping, restaurants, cultural events, the zoo, and sporting events.

500-ACRES

The 500-acre campus is modeled after a small college setting with an expansive treed landscape with detached buildings. There are three dormitories, one for the women and two smaller dorms for the men. Dining services are provided in the cafeteria and meals are served buffet style with the opportunity of seconds or thirds!  The large gymnasium and ball field are used for physical education classes, intramural sports, and recreation. Most classes meet in the administration building, while music classes and daily chapel meet in the music building.
